Ronan Dillon is a Dublin-born artist, designer, and curator based on the west coast of Ireland. Shaped by an urban upbringing and a background in design, Dillon is drawn to the overlooked artistry within real themes of rural life. Approaching the landscape with an outsider’s eye, his work captures the wildness of the land through a fresh and daring perspective.
Dillon is particularly inspired by the uninhibited marks left by farmers—unselfconscious yet purposeful gestures that result in forms both raw and beautiful. Through these observations, he reveals the sublime within the ordinary, transforming the everyday into something quietly striking. His work is characterised by a sense of simplicity, colour, and effortlessness that underscores its thoughtful depth.
He is co-founder and curator of Glovebox, an occasional art gallery and online art store.
He also curates ‘Radical Ruralism’ an online collection of contemporary art with a rural regard.
He is co-founder of design studio me&him&you where he has worked on art and design projects for organisations including SFMOMA, Fringe Festival, Jameson, Facebook, Metropolis Festival, The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and The Science Gallery.
