Two Rogues
Two Rogues
This painting is made using agricultural spray paint for sheep which flies out of the cans inconsistently unlike regular spray paint. These process paintings specifically honour the medium and the process of testing paint flow. Similar to farmers marking their sheep, these marks are made for function rather than aesthetics.
Farmers paint on their sheep for ownership but they also paint symbols to indicate certain characteristics of each sheep. Chatting to a farmer recently he told me he paints an ‘X’ on total rogues. The ones that are always getting out of fields into places they’re not supposed to be, like meadows, crops, your neighbours garden etc.
This is an ongoing series.
